I knit a pair of converse shoes. I'd had this idea for aaages, but just recently conned someone into giving me an old pair. I cut off all the fabric, save for about a 1/4 inch along all the edges, and knit pieces to sew in place. They didn't take a very long time to make- the hardest part was sewing everything together. Ugh! I think the effort was worth it, and they're actually really strong. I played a game of baseball in them the other day, and they've held up just fine!! Here are some pictures:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v723/blueandredcows/CIMG6108.jpg

I cut the all-star patches off the original shoes and sewed them back on. I love how they turned out!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v723/blueandredcows/CIMG6110.jpg

here's the pattern. It'll make a ladies size 8.

gauge: 2"= 7 sts (unstretched)
needles: US 6
yarn: any worsted weight yarn, double stranded

to make these shoes, you knit three separate pieces, and then sew them onto the shoe.

first piece (make two, one for each shoe..)
cast on 28 sts
1) K
2) P
3) K12, YO, K2tog, K1, YO, K2tog,K
4) P2tog, P
5) K23, YO, K2tog, K2tog
6) P
7) K20, YO, K2tog, K2, K2tog
P
9) K17, YO, K2tog, K2, cast off 4 (this is the end of the row, so cut the yarn and rejoin it to purl back across the next row.)
10) P
11) K15, YO, K2tog, cast off 4 (same process as row 9)
12) P
13) K
14) P
15) K13, YO, K2tog, K2
16) P2tog
17) K14, K2tog
18) P
19) K11, YO, K2tog, K2
20) P2tog, P
21) K
22)P
cast off all sts.

2nd piece (make two, too). this is pretty much just the mirror image of the first piece.
1) K
2) P
3) K
4) P to last two sts, P2tog
5) K2tog, K2tog, YO, K
6) P
7) K2tog, K2, K2tog, YO, K
P
9) cast off 4, K2, K2tog, YO, K
10) P
11) cast off 4, K2tog, YO, K
12) P
13) K
14) P
15) K2, K2tog, YO, K
16) P to last 2 sts, P2tog
17) K2tog, K
18) P
19) K2, K2tog, YO, K
20) P to last two sts, P2tog
21) K
22) P
cast off all sts.

Tongue piece (make two)
Cast on 9 sts
K 5 rows in stockingette
Row 6) increase one st on each side of the tongue (11 sts).
K approx 23 rows in stockingette. I made a one st garter border along the edges to stop it from curling. it still curled a bit, but you can't tell when you're actually wearing the shoes.

Now, the assembly!!!!
take your converse, and look at the back of it. there's a thicker fabric strip that goes right up the back of the shoe. this is going to stay on- don't cut it off!! it'll help keep the construction of the shoe strong. Here's a picture of it-

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v723/blueandredcows/CIMG6113.jpg

so except for that piece, cut off every other bit of fabric, leaving approximately a quater inch border of fabric left to the shoe. This is what you'll sew the knitted pieces to.

The side pieces will seem too small for the shoe, but they'll stretch- I didnt' want them to be too baggy.

When I sewed everything together, I used regular thread, but I double stranded it for strength. I would also strongly reccomend a thimble, because some parts of the shoe (in the heel and near the toe) are thicker and you'll want to protect your fingers as you have to push the needle in with a lot of force.

Next, cut the patches off the shoe, punch holes ( I used a needle) in the patch around the edges. You'll want to punch the holes before you sew them on, otherwise they're hard to sew on. Then attach them to the sides of the shoes, relace them, and you're good to go!

cách làm khăn quàng nơ

http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k440/myphelan/Picture155.jpg

Chọn len mềm, màu tùy thích, que đan hơi to 1 tí (số 6).

Yarn (To Make One Hat)
2 or 3 skeins of Jade Sapphire 12 ply cashmere (two skeins of the main color and one skein of the contrast color if you make a striped hat like mine, or if you choose to make your hat all one color, it will take 2 skeins of that color). If you would like to use a different yarn, you will need approximately 140 yards of a chunky yarn per hat. You can find all of our chunky yarns at this link.
Tools
US size 9, 16-inch circular needle (or size needed to get the correct gauge)
US size 9, double pointed needles (or size needed to get the correct gauge)
stitch marker
Gauge
3.75 stitches = 1-inch in rib pattern

Finished Measurements
Men's Hat
22-inches circumference

Women's Hat
20-inches circumference

Hình mẫu do em Buitrang88 đan thực nghiệm và bổ sung.

Vd:

Shimmer Chevron Scarf
knit with 6 colors of Shimmer tubular yarn
Materials:
6 50 gr. balls of Shimmer: one each:
2849-ecru, 2847-fog, 2848-periwinkle, 2846-strawberry, 2845-grape and 2850-celery
Size 10.5 9" CPY Bamboo Needles
Chevron Pattern Stitch:
(Pattern is a 13 st repeat, 2 garter sts at each side of scarf)
Row 1: K2, *inc 1 by knitting in back and front of next K st, K4, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, K4, inc in back and front of next st*, repeat between *'s twice more, end with K2.
Row 2: K2, P39, K2
Repeat these two rows for Chevron pattern.
Instructions:
Cast on 43 sts. K 2 rows.
Begin Chevron Pattern St.
Work with first color for 10 rows, change to 2nd color and work 10 rows, continue through all 6 colors and then repeat sequence.
Since I haven't finished the scarf yet, I can't tell how long it will be, but I think there will be 4 repeats of the chevron stripes which will make a nice, long scarf.
At end of scarf K2 rows in final color and bind off loosely.
Note: change colors at edge by knitting first two sts with old and new color together.

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/5919/photo0902030002qv4.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/Entopi/Knitting/Scrunchable_Scarf_medium.jpg

Knitted Lace Shoulder Shawl

'Flounce' is a lacy shoulder shawl, with delicate ruffles decorating the edge. It is worked in an unusual cross stitch which gives an open and attractive lace effect. In thin mohair fiber this is great for summer evenings.
Details

* Yarn Qty: Up to 50g
* Yarn Length: 0-500m
* Yarn Type: Mohair
* Pattern For: Woman
* Needle Size: 6mm
* Yarn Weight - Light 4

'Flounce' is a lace weight shoulder shawl and is deceptively simple to knit.

The shawl is knitted in Knitted Cross Stitch on large needles, it is quick to work. The shaping is simple - with piece of thread or ribbon threaded through the top of the shoulder shawl to gather the top edge in to ensure it sits on the shoulders effectively.

Measurements: Length (excluding ties) approximately 50 inches / 127 cms. Width (excluding ruffles) approximately 11 inches / 18 cms

Material: 2 balls Rowan Kidsilk Haze or similar.

Needles: 1 pair us10 / 6mm needles, 1 pair us1 / 2.25mm needles

Instructions:

Before starting refer to stitch instructions here.

Cast on 40 stitches.

Foundation row - Knit

Row 1: Purl 2, * Purl 1, Yarn on Needle (YON) * repeat from * to * to the last two stitches, Purl 2.

Row 2: Knit 2, work the rest of the row in cross stitch (see instructions) to last two stitches, Knit 2.

Row 3: Purl 4, * Purl 1, Yarn on Needle (YON) * to the last four stitches, Purl 4.

Row 4: Knit 4, work the rest of the row in cross stitch to last four stitches, Knit 4.

The above 4 rows forms 2 sets of 'crosses'.Repeat the above 4 rows 30 times, which gives 60 'crosses' in total, or until the work reaches the desired length.

To make ties

Work 2 rows in stocking stitch, change to the smaller needles and work 2 more rows of stocking stitch.

Next row knit 2 together down entire row (giving 20 stitches in total)- next row - Purl. Repeat these two rows once more (giving 10 stitches left).

Work on these two stitches in Stocking Stitch until the tie reaches 40cm (15 inch), or the required length, in total.

Pick up 40 stitches at the other end of the work, and repeat the instructions above.

To make the edging
Using the larger sized needles, and starting at the point where the tie meets the main body of the shawl, loosely pick up stitches along the end of the shawl. Approximately try to pick up a stitch for every row worked (one stitch here or there won't make a difference - this is why it is best to work loosely).

Row 1 Purl

Row 2 Knit 1, Make 1 (Yarn on Needle) repeat to the end of the row.

Repeat these two rows twice. Cast off very loosely to give a frilly edge (if necessary use a larger size needle to cast off).

Alternative Cast Off - This would work well with a crocheted cast off which would enhance the lacy edging.

To Finish:

Thread some ribbon or thread through the top edge of the shawl and gather it so it sits just on your shoulders (get someone to help you with this - another pair of hands might be useful!). Tie this off and sew in any loose ends.

The shawl might benefit from a light blocking.

Dòng 1 and 3 (mặt phải) đan lên 3, đan xuống 5, đan lên 6, đan xuống 5, đan lên 3.
Dòng 2 and các dòng mặt trái đan lên 8, đan xuống 6, đan lên 8.

Make thumb gusset:
(RH)
On next round, K1, pm, m1, pm, and continue as established, repeating the heart motif a fourth time. (For LH, work ribbing until you get to the last two knit sts before the pattern sts, then K1, pm, m1, pm.) Each time you come to the first marker, m1, then knit through to second marker, m1, pm. Inc two sts in gusset each round this way until you have 17 sts between markers. Move these gusset sts to spare yarn or a stitch holder.

When you’ve completed the 16-line motif a fourth time, work the first three rounds again while inc 27 sts evenly. Divide for fingers (17 sts each) and work each for an inch or so in stockinette st, then bind off. Put gusset sts on needles and knit thumb to desired length; bind off. Weave in ends, sewing up holes between fingers and around gusset as you do so.

GAUGE:

16 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Snowflake pattern worked in the rnd with larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle to make a new stitch. Knit this new stitch through the back loop.

Mũ beanie

http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/hats/graphics/london-beanie.jpg

Materials:
- 1 skein worsted (Aran weight) wool, main colour (MC) [FYI: I used Rowan Magpie MC Brown, CC1 Cream, CC2 Rust]
- Odds and ends worsted weight wool for a couple stripes-Contrasting Colours 1 & 2 (CC1, CC2)
- Circular needle, 4.5 mm (U.S. 7), 16"/40cm long
- 4 dpn's, 4.5 mm (U.S. 7)
- Marker or loop of yarn
- Darning needle for sewing in ends

Gauge:
20sts and 28 rows = 4 inches on 4.5 mm circular needle

Read: If you're concerned about "colour jogs" (an uneven spot where colours join), please see Sarah Bradberry's helpful link at http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/tips/jogless.htm

Method:

Cast on 72 stitches onto a circular needle. (Note: If you know how to do a Cable Cast On
[found in most books or mags] the bottom looks much nicer!)

Being careful not to twist stitches, place marker, join knitting and work K2, P1 ribbing for 10
rounds.

Round 11: *k8, inc 1, repeat from * (Total stitches on circular needle should now be 81)

Knit 10 rounds of MC.

Knit 2 rounds CC1

Knit 2 rounds MC

Knit 2 rounds CC2

Knit 2 rounds MC

Knit 2 rounds CC1

Knit 10 rounds MC

Decrease Round 1: *k7, k2tog, rep from *

Decrease Round 2: *k6, k2 tog, rep from *

Decrease Round 3: *k5, k2 tog, rep from *

NOTE: At this point, the reduced number of stitches may make working on the circular
needle difficult. Transfer stitches to the dpn's and carry on as though you were still working
with the circular needle.

Decrease Round 4: *k4, k2 tog, rep from *

Decrease Round 5: *k3, k2 tog, rep from *

Decrease Round 6: K2tog all the way around

Knit one row even

Finishing:
Leaving tail, cut yarn and thread through darning needle. Run needle and yarn through all
remaining stitches (don't miss any!) and pull tight. Run needle through the "donut hole" at
the top so that it's inside of beanie. Darn in all ends. Have fun!

Notes:

Everything between asterisks are repeated throughout the round. So * P2, K2 * just means you P2, K2 across the entire row.

x2, x3, and x4 after parentheses mean you do what is in the parentheses 2, 3, or 4 times. For example, (K1, P1) x2 means you do K1, P1 twice, viz. K1, P1, K1, P1.

K2TOG = Knit 2 stitches together

P2TOG = Purl 2 stitches together

Sl1 = slip one stitch, with yarn in front

Sl2 = slip two stitches, with yarn in front

RT = Skip the next stitch. Knit the 2nd stitch. Then knit the skipped stitch.

LT = Skip the next stitch. Knit the 2nd stitch in the back loop. Then knit the skipped stitch.

YARN, NEEDLE & GAUGE:

Online Linie Marly (DK weight yarn), about 500 yards (more if you want a longer scarf)

4.0 mm (US6)

Guage is not critical. Use a needle size appropriate for the yarn you are using. Thicker yarn & larger needles will give you a larger scarf. Thinner yarn & smaller needles will give you a smaller scarf.

NOTES:

K = Knit

K1-B (Knit 1 through back loop) = Insert needle into the back loop of the stitch and knit it.

K2-B (Knit 2 through back loop) = Same as K1-b, except you knit 2 stitches through the back loop (one stitch after the other, not K2Tog through back loop).

K2Tog = Knit 2 Together

M1 (Make One) = Insert needle from behind under running thread between the stitch just worked and the next stitch, and PURL this thread.

M5 (Make Five, a 5 stitch increase) = (K1, YO, K1, YO, K1) into the next stitch.

P = Purl

P2Tog = Purl 2 stitches together

P3Tog = Purl 3 stitches together

SK2P (Slip 1, Knit 2 Together, Pass over) is done as follows:
1. Slip 1 stitch.
2. Knit 2 stitches together.
3. Pass the slipped stitch over.

SSK = Slip, Slip, Knit

Tình hình là đợt này miền Bắc rét quá mà chẳng thấy chị em nhà mình khoe khăn khoe áo gì cả. Em xin post 1 số mẫu khăn đẹp em mới lượm lặt được, hy vọng kéo khí thế của nhà mình lên để tết có đồ mới diện, hì hì

Đầu tiên là em khăn Backyard leave. Hình hơi nhỏ, chị em chịu khó căng mắt ra một tí nhé :D

Chart nào
NOTES:

K = Knit

K1-B (Knit 1 through back loop) = Insert needle into the back loop of the stitch and knit it.

K2-B (Knit 2 through back loop) = Same as K1-b, except you knit 2 stitches through the back loop (one stitch after the other, not K2Tog through back loop).

K2Tog = Knit 2 Together

M1 (Make One) = Insert needle from behind under running thread between the stitch just worked and the next stitch, and PURL this thread.

M5 (Make Five, a 5 stitch increase) = (K1, YO, K1, YO, K1) into the next stitch.

P = Purl

P2Tog = Purl 2 stitches together

P3Tog = Purl 3 stitches together

SK2P (Slip 1, Knit 2 Together, Pass over) is done as follows:
1. Slip 1 stitch.
2. Knit 2 stitches together.
3. Pass the slipped stitch over.

SSK = Slip, Slip, Knit

Row 28: K3, * P2, K3, P3Tog, K2, P1, K2, P3Tog, K3, P2, K1 *, end K2

Repeat rows 1 to 28 for pattern, knit until scarf is half of desired length.

Do not bind off. Place stitches on stitch holder, spare knitting needle, or whatever works for you.

Knit another half, then graft both halves at the center using the Kitchener Stitch.

Weave in ends. Block scarf to make pattern "bloom". You can choose to block the edges straight/flat, or make them scalloped.

1. K1-B là đan mũi lên nhưng cho mũi kim ra phía sau

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkgTWTnQqaQ
2. K2-B là đan 2 mũi K1-B liên tiếp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z4RRklOk50&feature=player_embedded

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8R2sj1JsKg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7jIzwO5Nv4
